Position Title: Senior Cost Accountant

Status:  Exempt

PURPOSE:   The cost account will support the Controller in all areas of cost and financial accounting with primary for leading cost reduction initiatives. In addition, the Senior Cost Accountant will also be involved in budgeting, forecasting efforts, inventory management, system maintenance, and process improvement.

REPORTS TO: Controller

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs analysis regarding Material, Labor, and Overhead cost.
• Coordinate and conduct physical inventory counts.
• Prepares cost forecast by collecting, coordinating, consolidating, evaluating, and project cost data, and updating cost estimates.
• Confirm plant cost by auditing cost accounting systems; preparing post audit analysis information.
• Presents status of plant operations by collecting, interpreting, reporting cost information.
• Determines cost of plant operations by collecting, coordinating, consolidating and analyzing cost.
• Provide monthly forecasting analytics associated with manufacturing costs.
• Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
• Assist the Controller with month –end financial reporting responsibilities.
• Works both under limited supervision and independently, as circumstances require.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• A minimum of 5 years of cost accounting and manufacturing experience.
• Must have high level of proficiency in advance Excel and MANFACT II (ERP System)
• Self motivated, effective communicator with strong verbal/written skills.

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
